what happens tonight could decide what happens on november 6. joining me now is cbs 5 political analyst joe tuman. i know you participated in a lot of these debates, coached people what would be your advice to mitt romney to give him the edge? >> reporter: it wouldn't be learn to do do zingers, people don't feel he is authentic. you can't teach people to do something that's unnatural. he has never been a mean- spirited person on the campaign, doesn't tell jokes well. trying to do those things would not be natural. his best chance tonight i think is to just be himself and try and connect with voters as a human being. he did that briefly in his convention speech. if did he that tonight i think people would give him credit for just being a real person. the president, on the other hand, just needs to continue do what he is doing with is low drama obama, low pressure. even if he hasn't won on points he would be perceived the winner because he would seem to be presidential and not off his game. >> reporter: there hasn't been a lot of talk about it, six segments on domestic policy, giving them

. firefighters are still on the scene of a duplex fire which started nearly 6 hours ago. >> cbs 5 reporter anne makovec is there and anne, we understand this was a pretty complicated fire for the crews to fight. right? >> reporter: it was challenging because the homes are so close together here on bienvenue avenue in berkeley. they did just reopen the avenue so that's some good news but firefighters still on scene watching for any flare-ups this morning. the fire started just after midnight and check out these pictures posted online overnight on the daily cal website showing how intense that fire became. five people were living in a duplex. they all got out safely including a woman in a wheelchair who had to be helped out by police. four homes surrounding this one were also evacuated as a precaution. those people have been allowed back in except for the family of five that is homeless this morning. firefighters in the meantime are evaluating the damage. >> during the firefight, there was a collapse of the roof and second floor which resulted in us backing out of the building and fighting the fi
